The 2016 Honda Civic has been showcased to the world at the Auto China 2016 in Beijing, China. At the ongoing Beijing Motor Show, Honda has once again showcased the tenth generation Honda Civic along with the coupe and hatchback variants of the car. The same car has already been launched in China earlier this April at a starting price of 1,29,900 Yuan (approx INR 13 lakh). There is no word on the official launch date in India, but we can expect Honda to launch the 2016 Civic in India by next year. We 2016 Honda Civic is expected to be priced between INR 15 lakh - INR 20 lakh. However, the company currently has no plans to launch the coupe and hatchback variants of the car in our market.

The next-generation of the Honda Civic is based on the Japanese carmaker's latest 'Flying H Design' philosophy. The new Civic measures in at 4,649mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,416mm in height. Up front it has quite an aggressive stance thanks to the slim sweptback LED headlights along with integrated LED DRLs on either side of the trademark large chrome grille. The side profile gets a coupe-like stance with the sloping roofline while the car gets sporty 5-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, the 2016 Civic sports a boomerang shaped split LED taillights.

Inside, the Civic now sports a 3-spoke steering wheel with audio controls, a stylish dashboard with Honda Connect touchscreen infotainment that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes equipped with a dual-tone climate control setup. The next generation Honda Civic packs a punch when it comes to safety. It gets ABS with EBD, Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation and Lane Keeping Assist.

The Chinese-spec Honda Civic comes with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 176PS of max power and 220Nm of peak torque. Other markets get the option of a 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre petrol options as well. For India, the Civic is expected to come with the 1.8-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel option. Both engine options get manual transmissions while only the petrol will be offered with a CVT option. Source
