Mahindra & Mahindra on Wednesday launched its latest pick-up van the Big Bolero Pik-up at an event held in Pune. The Mahindra Big Bolero Pik-up has been priced at INR 6.15 Lakh for the BS-III variant while the BS-IV variant comes with a price tag of INR 6.30 Lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Pune). As the name suggests, this is indeed a larger cargo carrying variant of the regular Bolero Pik-up. The new variant gets a cargo bay measuring 2,765mm which is about 485mm longer than the regular variant. The Big Bolero Pik-up promises to raise the benchmark in the category with its class-leading payload capacity of 1,500 kgs and it's stylish looks and comfortable cabin. Mahindra has offered the new Big Bolero Pik-Up in two payload options – 1,250kg and 1,500kg, along with the CBC (Cowl Body Chassis) variant which allows customers build cargo area as per needs.


Inside, the new Mahindra Big Bolero Pik-up gets basic yet welcome changes like bucket seat with sliders, magazine pocket, recliners and headrests, mobile holder and a charging point. ELR (Electronic Lock Retractor) seat belts have been provided for both the driver's and co-driver's safety. For convenience, the vehicle gets a power steering for easy navigation. The vehicle also has washable floor mats, which help in keeping the cabin clean.


Under the hood, the vehicle is powered by a 2.5-litre MDI diesel engine with two different power outputs - 62bhp at 3,200 rpm in the BS-III variant and 70bhp at 3,200 rpm in the BS-IV variant. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission that generates 195 Nm of Torque. Apart from its robust build, the vehicle also provides a good fuel efficiency of 13 km per litre.


Mahindra offers 3-year, unlimited km warranty for the Big Bolero Pik-up BS-III variant, while the BS-IV variant gets an engine immobilizer and comes with a 1-year, unlimited km warranty. The vehicle also has a much lower operating and maintenance cost and requires an oil change only after every 10,000 kms and gear oil change after every 40,000 kms, resulting in higher earnings for customers. The Big Bolero Pik-up is not available in four-wheel-drive option for now. Source
