The American Car manufacturer Chevrolet, a division of General Motors America, finally unveiled the all new 2016 Chevrolet Beat at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The company had been teasing the car since quite a long time. The car is expected enter the Indian car market no earlier than next year, after the Delhi Auto Expo.
From the look of the new Beat we can see that he designers at Chevrolet clearly had been working a lot to give this car more mature and aggressive look shedding the youthful feel of the earlier version. The new Beat, also known as Spark outside India, now sits on a longer wheelbase 40mm lower than the previous model. The new beat features a brand new dual-port grille and fog lamp enclosures both with a chrome outline.
The new car shares the same boomerang shaped headlamps and the fun to drive character of the earlier version, but with a strengthened body shell. This Chevy gets brand new alloy wheels along with minor cosmetic changes to the tail lamp and bumpers at the rear end of the car. At the top, the car gets a sloping roof and a new tail gate with an integrated spoiler. This makeover adds to the aggressive and muscular look and feel of the new car.
The interiors sports comfortable seats with quality fabrics, color coded trim, trapezoidal air vents, an advanced dot matrix LCD instrument cluster with a 7 inch touchscreen MyLink infotainment system. As far as safety is concerned the car comes with forward collision alert, lane departure warning, side blind spot alert system and 10 standard airbags.
Under the hood, the car gets mechanical upgrades as well, it gets a powerful 1.4 litre Ecotec, 4 cylinder engine producing a maximum power of 98 bhp up from 77 bhp of the previous model which is coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission box.
