Mahindra, the Indian automobile maker finally launched the much anticipated facelifted version of XUV500 today i.e on 26 May, 2015. First introduced to the Indian car market in September 2011 this best seller by Mahindra was launched with major cosmetic makeovers.
The main attraction of this new cheetah inspired SUV is its new headlamp cluster which sports an S-shaped LED daytime running lights which is more or less similar to the ones installed in the new Scorpio. That's not all the fog lights in this new model features an L-shaped chrome finished enclosure which surely add up its aggressive looks.
The new XUV500 also features brand new 10-spoke alloy wheel, a chrome finished registration plate which compliments the rear of the car along with newly designed rear doors. But the only thing which the earlier model lacked was the design and feel of its interior, which sadly this new model also carry forward without any changes.
Like the interiors, we wont see any major changes to the muscle of the car which are its mechanicals. So, the new model has the same 2.2 litre 4 cylinder mHawk diesel engine delivering a power of 140 bhp with maximum torque of 330 Nm. Since, the new model has the same engine so the car gives the same fuel economy of 15.1 kmpl.
To sum up, we can say that the new Mahindra XUV500 facelift is only a cosmetic makeover of its earlier model and therefore it does not feature any mechanical upgrades. The exterior of the car has undergone major design changes while the interiors only offers more options with the color schemes. Honestly the lack of any mechanical upgrades disappoints us but we like the new design which this cheetah inspired SUV features in its new model.
