Mercedes-Benz, the German Automaker, is working on the 2-door Coupe version of the new C Class. Expected to be unveiled at the Frnakfurt Auto Show this September, this mid-sized luxury coupe was spotted undergoing road tests. But the bad news is that according to reports the company has no plans of introducing the new C Class Coupe to the Indian Market.
The front end of the new Coupe, based on the new MRA platform, looks very much similar to its 4-door version. The car features a Coupe roofline which slopes into the rear end. The car also borrows the design of its new horizontal wrap-around LED taillights from its S-Class Coupe brother and sports a dual exhaust system.
The interior of the new coupe will not see any major changes therefore will remain similar to its earlier sedan version but will feature COMAND infotainment display with a Touchpad controller, glossy black center console, three spoke multifunction sports steering wheel and ARTICO leather upholstery with contrast stitching.
Under the hood, the new C-Class Coupe will feature a 4-cylinder 3 litre V6 for the C450 AMG Sport and a 4 litre V8 twin turbo (M178) for the C63 AMG Coupe will be available in two power states 476 PS with 650Nm and 510PS with 700Nm in the S variant. Talking about the transmission, it is still unclear that the new Coupe will feature a 7G-Tronic or the 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox.
