Today in UK, Volkswagen rolled out a new version of Passat. The new version is called BlueMotion Passat. Why? because the new version comes fitted with a BlueMotion technology, which is a technology that allows the car to deliver a fuel economy of 32kmpl. This has earned the mid-sized family sedan the title of most fuel efficient non-hybrid car. The new version is based on the regular 'S' variant.
The secret to the car's superb fuel economy lies under the hood. The car comes fitted with a new Volkswagen BlueMotion 1.8litre four-cylinder turbocharged TDI diesel engine which is coupled with a 7-speed dry dual clutch automatic transmission box, that churns out 118BHP of max power generating 2550Nm of peak torque. This allows the car to attain a top speed of 207kmph, but the main highlight of this new variant is its superb fuel economy of 32kmpl that makes it the most fuel efficient car in its segment.
On the exterior, the car gets some minor changes which includes a BlueMotion badge on the grille, bespoke 17 inch aluminum wheels with 10 twin spokes and low resistance tires, a special Reef Blue exterior finish and reworked front and back bumpers. Inside, the cabin gets a two-tone seating with lighter and darker areas separated by blue contrast stitching, a new 6-5 inch Composition Media infotainment system and astsrt stop function. Another important feature added to this sedan is Post-Collision Braking feature.
