The much awaited DC Avanti "The Desi Sports Car ", first unveiled three and a half years ago at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, was finally launched by none other than Mr Dilip Chhabria (founder and head of DC Design) himself at an event held in Pune at DC Design's dealership. The first ever sports car to be designed and built in India, by the Indians and for the Indians, carries a price tag of Rs 35.93 lakh.

Exteriors:
Measuring 4565mm in length, 2120mm in width, 1200mm in height and with a ground clearance of 155mm (high GC for Indian roads), this 2-seater sports car has a carbon composite body and weighs 1580 kg. The car hails a killer front, with large winged shaped air dams, brilliantly shaped head light enclosures giving the headlights a raised eyebrow look. The sleek aerodynamic textured body gives the Avanti the look and feel of Ferrari 458 and Lamborghini Huracan.
The rear profile of the car sports an aggressive look, with the the roof sliding down and merging into the rear portion of the car. The boomerang shaped rear lights along with the company's logo gives the car's rear a killer look. Not to forget the bullet shaped twin exhausts with chrome surrounds.
Inside the Avanti flaunts an elegant yet spacious interiors, the seats are premium and is sure to give you a sense of luxury. The design of the instruments panel hows a superb balance between modern design and royal finesse.

Engine and Performance:
The sports car is powered by Renault sourced 2.0-litre, four cylinder turbo petrol engine, that develops 250bhp @ 5500rpm and a maximum torque of 340Nm @ 2750-5000rpm. The engine is coupled to a six speed manual transmission which rockets the sports car to achieve 0-100kmph in 6 seconds and has a top speed electronically-limited to 200kmph.
