The Japanese Automobile giant looks all ready to launch its RVR Urban Crossover in India. The car is currently expected to be in its production ready form and could launch during early 2016. The company, counting on the its new RVR, has high hopes from it. With the Crossover, Mitsubishi hopes of improving its sales performance as it enters the SUV dominated Indian car market. With an expected price-tag of Rs 15lac the car will compete against rivals like Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Fortuner.
Speaking about the exterior, the compact crossover has aggressive exteriors, a dynamic body with bold looks, elegant lines flowing across its body adding to its aerodynamic looks, wing-shaped structured front grille, HDD head-lamps, large 7-spoke alloy wheels, muscular front bumper with wide air-vents and a pair of fog-lamps with leaf-shaped enclosures, wide windshield and a sporty overhanging rear with sleek tail-lamps.
Inside, the RVR has a spacious cabin with enough head and leg room, black comfortable interiors with quality seats, magnesium steering wheel paddles, symmetric center console along with steering mounted controls. Despite its elegant and comfortable interior the main highlight of the car are its safety features which include 7 airbags, ABS, ESP, brake assist, brake overrides, active stability controls, hill assist and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Under the hood, the car features a a powerful 1.8 litre turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine which churns out a max power of 137 bhp @ 4200rpm and delivers a peak torque of 172Nm @ 4200 rpm which is mated to a 6 CVT DOHC valvetrain. Combined with FWD and advanced suspensions featuring MacPherson strut at the front and multi-link at the rear the RVR offers superior handling capabilities.
