So, finally the Renault KWID is here. First unveiled back in 2014 at Delhi Motor Show the much awaited KWID was launched in India today i.e September 24. The car bears a price tag of around Rs 2.56 lakh and comes in six variants. The top end model [RXT (O) Trim] costs around Rs 3.53 lakh. Developed and built at Renault-Nissan's state-of-the-art Chennai facility, the car was tested across different parts of the world. The car's chassis was tested in Japan, body in Korea, endurance in France and assembly again in India.
Exterior:
Speaking about the exterior, the muscular looking SUV has a short front end with a stylish structured grille, a large bumper with wing shaped air-vents and a pair of bold foglamps, elegant headlamps with C-shaped chrome trim and overhanging rear gives this car a dynamic profile. The SUV sports chunky wheels with deep treaded off-road tyres and large wheelbase with high ground clearance adding to the robustness of the car. Inspired by various concepts and company's previous models, the KWID looks like an SUV from the front and a crossover from the rear. Measuring 3,500mm in length, the could come with both 4-door and 2-door configuration. The car is sure give a stiff competition to its rivals like the Ford EcoSport.
Interior:
Inside, the 5seater has a spacious and comfortable cabin with enough head and leg room, elegant black interior with quality seats and a piano black dashboard with center mounted controls with chrome surrounds sporting a 7inch infotainment system, MediaNav system and digital instrument cluster.
Under the hood, the KWID houses a 1.5litre Dci 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which churns out 85-110 bhp of maximum power with a peak torque of 145Nm or a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing a maximum power of 70bhp and a peak torque of 135Nm
