Soon after, the car maker decided to rename the Zica, they launched a website where the public was asked to vote for the name they like. With the contest, Tata was able to narrow down to three names – Civet, Adore and Tiago. Of these three, Tiago was finally chosen.
The hatchback was unveiled at a media event in Goa on December 4th. The event was held after several reports which confirmed the fact that the all new Tata Tiago (Zica) was spotted undergoing real-world road tests in Pune, India. Tiago (Zica) has been introduced as a replacement of their bestseller the Tata Indica and also as a part of Tata's Kite Project. The car is being produced at the company's Sanand manufacturing facility in Gujarat. Codenamed Kite, the compact hatchback got renamed as Tata Zica (and now Tiago) before the media event held in Goa, at which the hatchback was unveiled.
As a replacement to Tata Indica, Tiago resembles the outgoing model quite a lot but with upgraded looks. The new model features revamped large swept back headlamps, a fresh front honeycomb pattern grille design, wide grin-like air dams along with circular fog lamps featuring chrome bezels and a new muscular bumper, giving the Tiago the much needed modern touch. Prominent lines flowing across the side, dual tone ORVMs with turn indicators and 10-spoke alloy wheels adds spice to the side profile. Based on the XO platform the car might impress a lot of hatchback lovers.
