Mercedes-Benz S400 Launched in India

Mercedes-S-Class-S400
Mercedes-Benz just added another car into its kitty and this time, it's the S400. The car was finally launched in India on March 29, 2016, with a price tag of INR 1.28 Crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The S400 will be locally assembled at the Chakan facility. The new variant of the S-Class is positioned between the S350 and S500 trims, while also being the second petrol-powered version of the Stuttgart based automaker's flagship sedan. The S400 will add to the current S-Class models and as you can expect will come with all the goodies of the company's luxury sedan. This luxurious yacht is currently sold in two guises in the country, the S500 petrol and the S350 CDI not counting the Guard cars. Now, the German carmaker launched another smaller petrol variant of its flagship luxury sedan. The variant is known as the S400 but unlike a lot of markets over the world this will not be a hybrid.

There is no difference in the cabin of the car. It still offers the same level of luxury with a leather wrapped cabin complete with Merc’s COMAND infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. And as all S-Class cars, the king of the car is the rear passenger where most of the luxuries and space is focused. The Mercedes S400 is loaded with all the comforts including the air balance package, seat memory function, chauffeur package, customisable interior upholstery as well as rear seat tables. The rear seats also get 10-inch screens for improved on-the-go entertainment, while the cabin also gets seven different ambient light option. All four passengers also get the luxurious 16-way seat massagers for relaxed cruising. Furthermore, you get a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera and a 1540-watt Burmester sound system for acoustic needs.

The S400 is powered by a smaller 3.0-litre V6 engine which would probably come with forced induction for producing more power. The power figures are expected to stand at about 333PS of max power and 480Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to the same 7-speed GTronic transmission that also does duty on the S500. It should be the perfect car for people who want a petrol S-Class but find the V8 a bit excessive.

Stay tuned for more updates!
