After getting a good response from the American and European car markets, since it was first unveiled back in 2012, Nissan has now finally made the decision of introducing the car to the Indian car market, hopping for a same response here. With minor tweaks and changes the car is all set to hit the Indian showrooms around August 2016, and as far as sales are concerned this hatchback by Nissan will surely punch a dent at its rivals earnings. The Note in India will compete against really good cars like The Honda Jazz and The New VW Polo GT TSI.
Speaking about the exterior, this compact hatchback has a sporting and dynamic look, but the most prominent design element of this car are its side streaks which are called Squash lines. These lines really adds to the dynamic look of the car. The sleek front grille which is flanked by stylish headlamps, an aerodynamically shaped front bumper with large air-vents and a pair of fog lights. With combination taillamps to complete its dynamic look this compact Nissan is sure to please a lot of people.
Inside, the car has black interiors and a spacious and comfortable cabin. This 5-seater comes with quality seats, touchscreen infotainment system and ample head and leg room. With a price tag of Rs 8-10 lac the Note comes packed with features which includes e-windows, e-side view mirrors, power steering, push start/stop button, Nissan Connect Satellite Navigation System, keyless entry, criuse control and parking camera and sensors. A recent report by NCAP Europe showed that none of the Indian cars survived their crash tests, keeping that in mind Nissan has included a lot of safety features in the Note, which includes 6-airbags, ABS, ESP, Around View Monitor, Blind Spot Warning System, Lane Departure Warning System and Advanced Moving Object Detection System.
Under the hood, the new Nissan offers three different engine options. These are, 1,2 litre petrol engine with 79bhp @ 6000rpm power and 110Nm @ at 4000 rpm torque, a 1.2 litre DIG-S turbocharged petrol engine with 97 bhp @ 5600rpm power and 142 Nm @ 4400rpm torque and finally a 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine with 88bhp @ 5800rpm power and 125Nm @ 4200 rpm torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a CVT option giving a decent fuel economy of 25kmpl.
